BLACK AND WHITE RETURNS

Children’s mental health week

Young people often hide how they feel so they can fit in. Suppression tracks with higher anxiety, depression and stress, and it shows up most where they sense they do not belong. ‘This Is Not My Place Face’ named the camouflage: the expression worn for the room, not the one that is true. The brief was to hit adults, not children. Informed grown-ups build the places where a real face is safe; belonging is the condition that lets the mask drop. Across Child Mental Health Week we ran in-person and online activations for Bridge the Gap’s early-intervention work. The topic trended across socials. The hope is that the awareness outlasts the week.
